The Path of Steam - The Colorado Central reached Central City on May 21st, 1878. The celebration lasted into the night with 10,000 participants. The founders were William A.H. Loveland and his partners Henry Teller and Edward L. Berthoud as the Colorado and Clear Creek Railroad in February, 1865. The name was changed in in January 1869 to The Colorado Central Railway Company with encouragement and assistance from the powerful Union Pacific RR.
